I would like to thank your website Boatcarpetcentral.com for simplifying the job and making it so easy to carpet a boat. I never thought I’d be able to re-carpet two of my boats – a bass boat and the other a bunk board boat – singlehandedly. All I did was buy the carpets online after requesting for a few samples to be sent to me. I chose the marine boat carpet from the wide array of carpets on the site and picked the colours that suited my boats. After the carpets were delivered to me I went online to your website once again and had a look at the step by step instructions. From there on I knew what to do. The installation instructions were precise, easy enough for a layman like me to follow and insightful.
For re-carpeting my bunk board boat, as stated in the guide, I scraped off all remnants of previous glue, checked old bunk boards for damage and stapled the carpet fabric to the boards. I glued the boards and wrapped each board in carpet material. When I had covered all sides of the boards I stapled the end of the carpet to secure it. Since the carpet had a rubber backing I avoided using alcohol based glue and bought a water based super glue instead, as suggested by the guide. I allowed all bunk boards to dry after repeating the above process for each one and cut an X on the underside of the boards, where the carpet covered the bolt holes. By doing this I could get the bolts to pass through without pulling the carpet.
As far as the bass boat carpet installation is concerned I removed all the old glue, cleaned the surface and glued the carpet to the surface. After that I pressed the carpet to remove air trapped underneath. With an old screwdriver I marked the edges and cut off the extras. As simple as that.
In a matter of hours I was able re-carpet both boats and all the credit goes to the reader-friendly instruction guide on the website.
